French Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering in francophone institutions is a great way to develop your French communication skills and to flesh out your resume.
Volunteering in Schools
We strongly encourage students interested in teaching at the primary or high school level to volunteer in a French or French immersion school in the area. Arrangements are made directly by the students with the schools.
During fourth year, students who are interested in pursuing a teaching career have the opportunity to enroll in FR 4P06 – French as a Second Language: From Theory to Practice. This full year course combines various elements of French practices, united theory and practical experiential education. Students will benefit from placements organized through Hamilton-Wentworth School Boards where they will have the chance to explore a career in teaching French.
