French Course Code Updates Starting in 2025-26

New Courses open to students from all programs:

  • French 1CT3, Foundations on Translation, (Taught in both English and French)
  • French 2OR3, Conversational French Elementary, (For students who discontinued French earlier on in high school and want to practice oral French)
  • French 2XX3, French Movie Stars & Entertainers (Taught in English)

Please note:

Students can either pursue a single Major (B.A. in French) or a Double Major (Combined Honours in French and another subject in Humanities, B.A).

For example, students can specialize in French alone or French and English, French and History or French and Communication Studies & Media Arts.
For a Combined Honours, the same number of courses are required for the B.A as is the case for a single Honours; the tuition is also the same for both.

Students may also minor in French (24 units) while completing a major specialization in another program.

**We also offer Honours French and Mathematics (B.A.), Arts & Sciences and French
(B. Arts. Sc.), and Honours in French with a Specialized Minor in Commerce (B.A.).
