Certificate in Essential French

A Certificate in Essential French attests that you acquired basic communication skills in one of Canada’s official languages. The concurrent Certificate in Essential French is geared toward students who are looking for a solid foundation in French. It stresses communication skills such as understanding spoken French, reading simple texts, and formulating requests and opinions orally as well as in writing. Students completing a degree in French are not eligible for the Certificate.

Certificate in Professional French

A Certificate in Professional French will equip you with career-oriented vocabulary and communication skills. The concurrent Certificate in Professional French provides students with substantial vocabulary from such fields as business, engineering, law, medicine, journalism and the hospitality industry. Through a focus on the study of sample cases, the Certificate will help prepare students for possible real-life situations which they could encounter in their careers.
