Volunteering in schools
We strongly encourage students interested in teaching at the primary or high school level to volunteer in a French or French immersion school in the area. Arrangements are made directly by the students with the schools.
During fourth year, students who are interested in pursuing a teaching career have the opportunity to enroll in FR 4P06 – French as a Second Language: From Theory to Practice. This full-year course combines various elements of French practices, united theory and practical experiential education. Students will benefit from placements organized through Hamilton-Wentworth School Boards where they will have the chance to explore a career in teaching French.
