Serruys’ book nominated for Shepherd Prize
Nicholas Serruys’ new book, Progrès, derives et autres sens du véhicule dans la science-fiction Québécoise contemporaine, explores the diverse ways that travel is represented in contemporary Quebecois science fiction. Travel in science fiction is represented in many different ways including time machines, spatial arches, interdimensional migrations, and parasitic usurpation of the body of others. Serruys’ book explores these concepts as both plot points and metaphors for modernization, progress and isolation.
The book has also been nominated for the Shepherd Humanities book prize and was featured on the McMaster Daily News ‘Nine Reads for Winter.’
